What to expect when you visit Science World British Columbia in Vancouver on a field trip.
"Hello! Welcome to Science World at Telus World of Science! I’m going to prepare you for what to expect on a field trip here.
Let’s get started!
Each morning, our Science Facilitators are ready and waiting for you to arrive.
They’ll come right out to meet you on your bus. Look out for these guys and gals in blue throughout your trip, they’re always helpful!
You can send your lead teacher inside right away to check your group in while we talk to you outside.
When your teacher returns we’ll lead your whole group in together, make sure you get a stamp on your way in!
Before you come in make sure you know who is in your small group for exploring, and who your group’s adult is.
Our first stop will be to drop off your lunches and jackets at a coat rack reserved just for your group. The space on these is very limited and won’t be monitored, so only bring what you need.
We offer Lab Workshops and Gallery experiences for an enhanced field trip experience
If your group has booked one, please arrive at the appropriate lab or gallery at least 5 mins before your scheduled start.
If your group is seeing an omnimax film, meet at the bottom of the ramp at least 15 mins before the start.
The ramp can take a long time to walk up!
Talk to your teacher about where you plan to have lunch. The lunch room can get very busy and loud so your group might decide to eat somewhere else. The Science Facilitators can direct you to alternative spaces such as Centre stage, The Atrium, Or the science park (Except from November – Feburary when it would make for a pretty soggy lunch so we close it off)
Wherever you decide to eat be sure to pick up after yourself and take advantage of our compost and recycling facilities throughout the building.
Make the most of our exciting exhibits on your field trip:
Challenge your friends, volunteer at a stage show, ask lots of questions, and have lots of fun
Just remember you must stay in your small groups of 5-10 kids per adult at all times during your visit.
When it’s time to go, the atrium is a good place for your smaller groups to assemble. Make sure you collect all your belongings from the coat rack before you leave. Then exit through the side door
We hope you have a wonderful visit to Science World and we look forward to seeing again you soon."
